Duke on the Giants

Duke, a long time Giants fan, is still stewing about the Giants lack luster performance on Sunday versus the Eagles.

Here is Duke in his own words:

After listening to Harry Carson, I concur. This Giant team did not play smash mouth football against the Eagles. As Vince Lombardi used to say, "It is all about execution." As I keep telling people, the Giants played this game like "Girls". I felt they were a shell of themselves. They didn't have swagger. The kickoff return by Bradshaw was great to start the game; however, the Giants scored 3 points. Nauseated, I thought it is going to be a long afternoon for the Giants. Unlike last year, the pass rush was not there. I thought they did not put enough pressure on McNabb.

Undoubtedly, having superstar receiver Plaxico Burress out of the lineup affected the Giants. The Giants were 9-1 with Plax playing and 3-4 without him.

Where was the Giant Offensive line (The 5 Boroughs)? Despite Jacobs rushing for 92 yards, I thought there were no open holes for Jacobs to run through. For the entire game, I thought he struggled for his yardage. I felt he didn't have that first burst of speed for the first 3-4 yards. On Sunday, as soon as he came to the line he was fighting. There was no daylight for him.

Those two failed fourth down conversion attempts were an abomination. On 4th and two, running the ball? And on the 4th and inches, Eli you must dive low.

I feel Ward and Bradshaw should have been used more as receivers coming out of the backfield.

Disgusted with Coughlin and Gilbride, I had to walk out of the room many times.
They just didn't play GIANT football! Again, if one looks back at the last month of the season, they really didn't play that well as they were 1-3. I think some of the players were burnt out. As a long time Giants fan, this loss is unacceptable.

You can't blame one person. I think everybody is to blame for this horrible loss. It is my judgment, Coughlin should be held accountable for his team not executing. Although Gilbride call the plays, the offensive game plan is approved by Coughlin. I thought their offensive game plan stunk.

That's what I think Glenn. Just think how the Patriots felt when they lost!
