My first thoughts:
The Giants played very poorly on offense in their 23-11 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.
I am disappointed with Eli Manning's play. Tomorrow in the papers and ESPN, I guarantee hacks will espouse Eli's performance last year was a fluke.
This game reminds me of the 1990 Divisional Playoff. I feel nauseated.
In this years playoffs, ball Security seems to be the theme. The team which is careless with the football loses.
Give credit to the Eagles for scoring touchdowns and not field goals.
I thought the Eagles defense played well. Despite the Eagles defense playing well, the talk today and tomorrow will be the Plaxico factor. With Plaxico out, the outcome would have different. I do think this is the case. Even if Plaxico was playing, I do not think he would have made a difference. Eli could not execute. It is my judgment, Phil Simms was a master at playing with the wind at Giants Stadium. Eli is going to have to learn how to play in windy conditions.
I thought breaks did not go our way. The what ifs:
1. On the opening kickoff, what if Akers does not bring down Ahmad Bradshaw. Bradshaw would have scored.
2. On Fred Robbins interception, Eagles WR Kevin Curtis makes a good tackle. The Big fella was rumbling for six. Curtis was able to bring him down.
In their last meeting in the regular season, the Giants did not bury this team when they should have. Today, the Eagles came back to haunt the Giants.
Tip your hat to Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid, and Jim Johnson.
Philadelphia played a very good game. Today, I wonder if some of the Philadelphia media and fans want McNabb and Reid to go. I think this shows how fickle fans are.
Good luck next week Eagles.
